King's River Float

This past weekend a few friends of mine and I went on an overnight float down the King's River in NWA. Wow what a magnificant and beautiful river. Although the water was a little low, it was still high enough for us to enjoy ourselves for a beautiful Saturday afternoon in God's Country (NWA-don't listen to Grant).

The group included Jordan and Mandy Eoff, Virginia and Andrew Steger, Nathan and Lisa Tumlison, Matt and Nana Sellers, Mark Wagner, Amity and Bree, Matt McClure, Brad, Cindy and myself. We put in on Mark's brother-in-law's land and floated and fished until we came to a what looked like a good stopping point. We set up camp, cooked hotdogs and smoars over an open fire, and built a huge bonfire.

Our only trouble came from a few drunk people riding on four wheelers intent on keeping us up (more on this later). The weather held up and did not start to rain on us until we were packing up the canoes on the trailer.

I highly recommend floating the King's River. I am planning on going back for a fishing trip as I have never seen so many good looking holes of water in my life. It was hard to pass them up and not fish, but I did not want to hold the group up since the others were not fishing.

All and all we had a great time. Good fellowship, no one got hurt, and we were able to take in all of God's creation.
