Yeah! I'm so glad you guys are going to be there! I would have been so bummed to go all the way to Arkansas and not meet you! We are pretty excited. Thinking we might charter a bus...should be interesting! Can't wait!

She is a doll!!! Okay, I need some medical advice. The doctors here in Guatemala have put Eliana on 2ml of Amoxicillin twice a day and 2 ml of a decongestant 3 times a day. Is that too much for a baby that weighs about 16-17 pounds? I just don't want her to be over-drugged. Love y'all.....keep praying for our sweet girl....for complete healing.

Lindsey and Chris,
Feel free to email at jasonlofton@gmail.com.
The dosing of the Amoxicillin for a 16-17 lb kid would be as follows:
90mg of amoxicillin per kilogram of child per day, for something such as a middle ear infection. Eliana is approx. 7.7 Kilos (I called 17lbs), so she needs around 650-700mg of Amoxicillin per day. If you split this in half, it wouls be about 300-350mg per dose. In the states, this comes as 125,200,250, and 400mg/ml. So, look on the bottle and see if it gives you how many mg/ml. Should say 250/5 or 400/5, or something along those lines. If she was getting the 400/5 dose, which is the highest it comes in the states, she is getting 80mg/ml or 160mg per dose. So, your answer is no she is not getting too much. That is the correct dose for what is considered "general infections" if it is 400/5. If it is not 400/5, email me and I will tell you what to give. jasonlofton@gmail.com
