we got these pics of oaklee on turkey day in her new blue warm-up suit. it makes her eyes pop! our favorite thing that she does now is after she's fed, we'll lay her on her back on the floor, and she'll kick around & smile & make the cutest noises in the world. she starts breathing real hard b/c she gets so excited. it's the best! what a joy she is. we are beyond thankful for our blue-eyed beauty.

Oaklee in Oil
We were surprised by our friend Susan Plunkett, also known as the master painter, with the above oil painting of an oak tree with Oaklee's name and verse. We were wanting to get something done and were given this today. Thank you Susan! You do an awesome job. For any of you who have seen the painting of Suzie, she did that one as well.
We have had a wonderful time with family and friends these past few days. We will post more photos later.

Weekend in Pictures
Paige and Oaklee - future wake boarding buddies
Parker showing Oaklee some big cousin love
Stu getting one last look before he head to Oaxaca
Laura Jackson (secretly hoping to have one of her own someday soon)
Kelly and Jeremy stopped by...I think she wants one?
Our good friend April showing Oaklee some Lovell
Chris and Paige with me and Oaklee...we may have our hands full some day
And last but not least, Jamie Farmer.
We had a good weekend in Fayetteville getting to see our good friends Dave and Sarah get married and getting to see lots of friends at the wedding and at Oaklee's baby shower. We owe a HUGE thanks to my mom Marsha and sister Lindsey for helping make all the finger foods for the shower. Thanks to Patrick for watching Parker while they did all the finger foods and for helping make them as well. Thanks David for making your office available. And thanks to all our wonderful friends who dropped by to see Oaklee. And to Chris, Katie, and Paige Allen, thanks again for letting us stay at your house. It was perfect. We had a good time.

The Hamrick Wedding
We are here in Fayetteville for the wedding of Dave Hamrick and Sarah Hodges. We had a lot of fun last night at the rehearsal and are looking forward to God's blessing the two of them and their future. We have our "sip and see" baby shower tomorrow. If anyone in Fayetteville didn't get an evite for some reason and is reading this, we will be at the Hampton Inn in Springdale from 12-2 tomorrow (Sunday).

the rest of the lyrics...
I didn't want to keep anyone in suspense who was eagerly awaiting the rest of the "Deer Stand Lullabye" lyrics. Pop was inspired to write this as he literally sat in his deer stand yesterday morning. How fitting. :-) I think we could eventually make a CD of "unique" lullabies like this one, kind of like "Buckwheat Sings the Blues" from Saturday Night LIve, but instead we could call it, "Redneck Lullabies." If anyone has any songs they would like to submit for this recording, please let me know.
"Deer Stand Lullabye"
by Pop Lofton
Rock-a-bye baby
In the tree stand,
When the buck blows
Use the gun in your hand,
When the buck brakes,
Aim to make the deer fall,
Down will come Bambi, Rudolph, and all.
Oaklee looks sweet
Dressed in camo
Oh No!
Your Pop forgot the ammo.
Well, since your Pop has dropped the ball,
Bambi and Rudolph
Will be safe after all.

photo shoot, d-day plus 24
we had a little photo shoot after breakfast this morning. (her 2nd breakfast, that is) this is when she's most awake & ready to pose. she's already up to 9 lbs! she's gaining about an oz. a day, which is really good. her eyes get bigger each day, too, as you can probably tell from this pics compared to previous ones. if you click on the first pic to enlarge it, you can see how pretty they are. she's now sound asleep on my shoulder- which has quickly become one of my favorite feelings in the world. there is nothing like it. i love being a mom. :-)

Cousins
Oaklee got to meet her 2nd cousin Raylee in Dallas this past week. Raylee is about 4 1/2 months older than Oaklee and they had almost identical measurements when born. We figured out while we were there that they were both born at 6:39 pm. Anyway, as you can see, Raylee is a bit bigger than Oaklee. Raylee comes from taller stock than we do, so I doubt Oaklee will be as big at 5 months. We really enjoyed getting to see Ray and Lindsey and appreciate them letting us crash at their place. It was just perfect for what we needed with an infant.

our lil' razorback
so the brainwashing has begun. not really, of course, but well, ok. my parents trained me from infancy to love wearing red & white and saying those 3 magic words: woo, pig, & sooiee. so oaklee will be no different. i think she enjoyed the game vs. SC last night, at least me and her grandparents did. :-)what an awesome game! it's a really great thing when a team can play up to their potential. such a joy to watch, amen? she looks good in red & white. if only they made more baby clothes those colors and didn't combine them to make EVERYthing pink. anyway, more pics to come. she's doing awesome. if you click on the pic of her and i, you can see how blue her eyes are. we don't know if they'll stay that color, but we hope so. she's a beautiful baby regardless.

First Trip
Sorry we haven't posted any the last few days. We have been in Dallas at a C-WBN conference. We did take Oaklee with us and she has been wonderful. She made it from DeQueen to Dallas without a peep until we pull into the house of my cousins Ray and Lindsey. Oaklee got to meet Raylee, her 2nd cousin, who is about 3.5 months older than Oaklee. And interestingly enough, they were both born at 6:39 pm. Oaklee did great and was quiet during most of the meetings. She got a lot of comments.
I am still in Dallas as Cindy went back to DeQueen with Oaklee and Jessica. I am here along with the other men from HWF for the men's Quarry meeting, which is the C-WBN men's meeting.
Cindy will be back this evening and probably post more Oaklee pictures soon.
