The Awakening

I just wanted to remind all of you men reading this that Promise Keepers is coming to Fayetteville on June 10-11 at Razorback Stadium. I would encourage you to get the word out to all the men you know...your dads, your girlfriends/wives dads, your neighbors, etc. Think of that guy you have been wanting to get connected to but did not know how. This may be what will do it.

Fever Pitch

OK, since I am coming off of my high of seeing one of the best pitching duals this year with Roger Clemens vs Mark Mulder, I couldn't help but wonder what was gonig on when I hear of this hilarious comedy with Drew Berrymore and Jimmy Fallon (thanks Jama). Drew Berrymore in a funny and clean movie about baseball? Not that I have seen all those movies she is in, but she is known for showing some skin.

Now I have to give Fallon credit for Band of Brothers first of all, then of course SNL. I hear that this movie is hilarious and pretty clean. Check out the trailer here to see for yourself. Here is a quote from someone who has seen the move:

"What I expected: A rather lame overly-stereotypical portrayal of a sports-mad guy and an equally lame stereotypical portrayal of the gal who likes him yet suffers while being second banana to his overly zealous support for his favorite sports team.

What I got: An even-handed story where both guy and gal end up admitting -- to themselves and each other -- that they each have passions in their lives yet each can forgive the other to save the love they share."

Sounds like this movie may even have some relevant life issues to use for group discussion? I think I am going to have to watch it afterall. Let me know what you think if you have seen it.

By the way....Cards all the way this year!!!!

If you have been wondering about when Relevant was launching their new website like I have been, click here to find out what's up. If you are interested, there is an oportunity to test it before it launches. How cool is that!

My Next Book

I saw this in the newest issue ofNew Man magazine . I am curious about what it says and how they relate the jedi spirit to Christianity.
I think Grant will really dig this book. I think his birthday is soon?

Road Trip

I guess you can say I get to be a part of history this weekend. Cindy and I are going to St. Louis on Friday, which is where she grew up. I have become an avid Cardinals fan ever since living in Arkansas and have always wanted to go to a game there. So, this weekend my dream comes true. I am lucky enough to get to see the Cards play Houston. My brother-in-law Patrick used his family connection to get us seats. I am excited, especially about getting to go to two bridal showers and meeting all of Cindy's friends. Did I mention I have always wanted to go to a Cards game?

Oh, the History part. If you didn't know, this is the last year for games to be played in the Busch stadium.

World View SPORTS Challange

Work has required much of my time and I am sorry for neglecting the trivia contest. Since it is Spring and I am such a sports fan, I changed the questions. Good Luck. Enter Here.

A Jewish Pope?

I haven't really known what to make of all that has gone on with the Pope's death and how people have responded, but here is a post which tells about the possibility of having a Jewish born Pope. Would this mean a change for the Catholic church? How would the Jews respond? I haven't heard the media make much of this, but then again I haven't been that involved in the media realm the past week or two.

Google Maps

I found something sort of cool the other day. If you go to Google Maps, you can type in an address and then click on the satellite link on the upper right hand side of the screen and see a digital satellite photo. I have found that Fayetteville has a good enough photo that you can read "Arkansas" on the football field. Most smaller towns don't have as good of a close up. The photos are so good, though, that I have been able to locate the mission base, Victoria Mission, at Roca Blanca, Oaxaca, Mexico.

One neat little function I discovered was that if you left click the mouse and hold it down, you can move the map around to right where you want it. Let me know what you think.

Sudan

Looks like something is finally being done in Sudan. We need to be in prayer for this country and those being persecuted there. Maybe this will bring to light what is going on.

Happy Birthday Lindsey

Just wanted to send a shout out to my sister Lindsey Kelley. April 6th is her b-day, so I wanted to say this on my blog. Since I am traveling tomorrow, I figure I won't have the chance. If my new PDA was in, I could just use the integrated Wi-Fi. I guess I should have ordered it earlier.
Anyway, I love you sis. Hope you have a wonderful birthday.

Also, I send a Happy half Birthday to the wonderful woman way over town, Cindy. You are awesome.

Can't Blog

I have not been able to blog lately because of my schedule. I miss it, I feel like I am not communicating or doing "my part" someh0w. Just when I am able to put up some awesome pics to blog about, my cable gets "cut", or so "Larry" the Cox Cable guy says. How does a cable that is burried underground get cut?

Anyway, I leave in the a.m. for Bristol, TN. I am going to a CMDA (Christian Medical and Dental Association) conference on "Treating the Whole Person". I am rather excited about it. I will miss getting to see Cindy, though. Yeah, say all you want to about that one Grant. So when my cable gets repaired, I will hopefully be able to blog again instead of having to come to the Library.
