Merry Christmas

Posted by Picasa

From the Lofton house to yours, we wish you the merriest of times today as we celebrate the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
"For to us a child is born,
to us a son is given,
and the government will be on his shoulders.
And he will be called
Wonderful Counselor, [b] Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

Of the increase of his government and peace
there will be no end.
He will reign on David's throne
and over his kingdom,
establishing and upholding it
with justice and righteousness
from that time on and forever.
The zeal of the LORD Almighty
will accomplish this."
Jeremiah 9:6-7

happy 2 months!

Our sweet girl is now 2 months and 3 days old. she had her 2 mo. check-up today, and her doc gave her an A+! she weighed in at 10 lb. 11 oz (45% percentile) and measured 24 in. long (75% percentile). she also got 3 shots in her legs, so i got to hear her scream on a whole new level! it was temporary pain, though, b/c she went to sleep soon after and didn't wake up for 4 hrs! anyway, here's some recent pics of her, for those of you who only check our blog for that reason. :-) this top pic is my absolute favorite of her so far, it just captures her sweetness.

i had her on my lap in this pic and got her doing a cheerleading move. she's after her mommy's owm heart. rah rah!

this is her '1st christmas' outfit that no baby is complete without! (check out the cool shoes)
what do you think was going through her mind when i took that pic?

Mr. Mom

Yes, I am officially married to Mr. Mom. I walked in the kitchen the other day, and what do I find? Manly multi-tasking at its best. The guy was cooking, conversing on his cell phone AND baby-sitting all at once. Amazing! If I had a way to make the big bucks, then I would seriously consider letting Jason be a stay-at-home mom. :-) ha. But seeing as how that will never happen, I'll just keep letting him prove himself as a genuine Mr. Mom whenever he feels like it. Thanks, babe, for serving me so well and giving me a break when I need it. You are awesome.

Nutty Buddy

No, this isn't a comment on coach Nutt. It is the funniest YouTube video I have ever seen, though. The original one was here, which I found on Lafe's Blog. Then I found this one. Cindy said she just doesn't get it, maybe it's a guy thing. Maybe it is, but I have not laughed this hard in a while. I actually had to take my white coat off and had beads of sweat build up I was laughing so hard. Enjoy and let me know what you think. Watch the one on Lafe's first, then this one. And no, this is not me, thank God.

sky angel cowboy

oh my goodness, this is awesome. Logan is a 13 year-old boy who lives on a ranch in a very small town in Nebraska. Logan listens to a Christian Radio station which broadcasts from Houston, TX. Logan called the radio station distraught because he had to take down a calf . His words have wisdom beyond his years. it is living proof of psalm 8:2- "out of the mouths of infants and children you have ordained praise..." be blessed.

breathtaking

Where others see but the dawn coming over the hill, I see the soul of God shouting for joy.
-William Blake

This is what we woke up to last Wednesday. Truly breathtaking. One of the best sunrises we've seen in awhile. Thought it was worthy of sharing.

more cousin time in the big D

we just got back from another great trip to dallas! we are so thankful for ray & lindsey's hospitality. staying w/ them is better than any hotel! a guest room with a bassinet, a hot tub & a pool, hdtv (although none of us could figure out how to use it, but we did manage to watch Man vs. Wild...otherwise i would've been channel surfing ALL night), good coffee, beautiful christmas lights, and great company. what more could you need? Oaklee & Raylee had a big time...well, if you call oaklee laying there smiling while raylee tried to pull her hair a "big time". :-) they were definitely cute. but so is cousin Ray in his stylish christmas sweater & antlers. ha ha. he's going to hate us for putting that pic on our blog. oh well.

also, oaklee girl is officially smiling! just this past week she's really been smiling back at us...and on many occasions just smiling at no one! it's so great. happy 8 weeks tomorrow, sweet girl!

Calling all moms!

This post is intended to gain wisdom & advice from other moms out there regarding how to take care of a baby while maintaining a clean home, getting sufficient sleep & keeping your husband happy. :-)

So Oaklee's been in the world for 7 weeks now, and I just did my first massive house cleaning over the weekend ONLY because we had company coming. (which is a great motivation to clean, by the way). My problem before the massive house cleaning: piles everywhere, forgetting to pay bills, a perpetually messy kitchen, a never-ending load of laundry, exhaustion, a baby who is depending on me to keep her alive (which is a total joy, not a burden, but just takes a LOT of my time away from doing those other things) & a husband who deserves a good meal when he comes home from work. So, fellow moms..... what is the secret of being a stay-at-home mom? How do you manage your time? What are some simple tips or tricks you've learned to keep you sane & to keep your house clean day to day? I would love to know. Please share the wealth.
